Def Jam is entering a new era. With a fresh regime at the top and numerous burgeoning signees, the famed label hopes to have found another way to introduce the newer artists on their talented roster to the world. On Wednesday (Jan. 23), Def Jam announced plans for an Undisputed compilation album releasing in March featuring a bunch of the artists they’ve signed over the past year.

The project came together in November through a weeklong recording session, as the group was holed up in California participating in a “rap camp” of sorts. Undisputed will see contributions from an array of signees, including Sneakk and Lul G of SOBxRBE, Brooklyn native Fetty Luciano, Cleveland’s YFL Kelvin, Harlem-bred MCs TJ Porter and Dominic Lord, 17-year old Bernard Jabs, YK Osiris, and Nimic Revenue.

“I believe in artistry and the idea that great music will find its audience,” said Steven Victor, Def Jam Recordings EVP & head of A&R. “I’m beyond excited about the roster of new artists we’ve built here at Def Jam. Each one of them is making the kind of music I want to listen to now. We’ve brought them together and asked them to buy into something larger, the Def Jam logo and legacy. It’s remarkable to see how much these artists have embraced it. I couldn’t be more proud of the results.”

Producer Rick Rubin (L) and Russell Simmons attend the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on April 18, 2013 in Los Angeles.
